Humans of Energy Transition

Humans of Energy Transition

Energy powers nearly every aspect of our daily lives, from the food we cook and the transport we take, to the electricity that lights our homes and runs our businesses. Yet energy receives surprisingly little attention, despite how profoundly it shapes our daily lives. Even more distant for many people is the idea of the energy transition, the shift toward cleaner, more sustainable energy systems.
The “Humans of Energy Transition” video series brings this global transformation closer to home by telling the stories of people whose lives are connected to energy in different ways. Through conversations with everyday individuals, from small business owners and workers to community members and local leaders, the series explores how energy systems shape livelihoods, choices, and opportunities.
Across Southeast Asia, energy demand is rising rapidly as economies grow and communities develop. Transitioning to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources is therefore essential not only for climate action, but also for energy security, economic resilience, and long-term development.
Through human stories and lived experiences, this series highlights why energy transition matters beyond policies and technologies. By connecting energy issues to everyday life, the “Humans of Energy Transition” aims to raise awareness, encourage dialogue, and inspire greater public understanding of the role that cleaner, affordable, and secure energy plays in shaping our shared future.
Because the energy transition is not only about systems and infrastructure, it is about people.
