Bangkok, 8 August 2024 – The project “Clean, Affordable, and Secure Energy for Southeast Asia” (CASE), implemented by GIZ, in collaboration with the School of Renewable Energy and Smart Grid Technology, Naresuan University (SGtech), organised the “Thailand Agrivoltaics Policy Recommendations Validation Forum” in Bangkok.
Viet Nam’s power system is rapidly integrating more renewable energy, especially wind and solar power, as outlined in PDP8. This expansion necessitates a more adaptable electricity grid to accommodate the variability of these sources. Investment and technological advancements are crucial to enhance grid flexibility, alongside traditional methods.
Southeast Asia booms, but faces a tough choice. Economic growth relies on fossil fuels, yet the region is super vulnerable to climate change impacts like floods and heatwaves. Can they balance both?
